The tradition in the UK is that mainstream churches tend to be centrally funded. Such churches have grown up with a long history and to some extent have been supported by the state, meaning they have considerable financial strength and a sizeable amount of real estate. This gives them the ability to provide buildings for their congregations, salaries for staff and often a home for their clergy.

Th Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC) is only 38 years old and does not have this type of financial resources to support our 300 or so churches worldwide.

MCC has been in Bournemouth for 27 years and is the only MCC in Europe to have its own church building and full time salaried Pastor. This is all due to the individual financial support of our members.

UFMCC does not pay our Pastor's salary
UFMCC does not pay the mortgage on our building
UFMCC does not pay our gas or electricity bills
UFMCC does not pay for staff to attend conferences
UFMCC does not pay for our music or office facilities
